65 degree weather, partly cloudy. Gravel sites with full hook ups for most in the group. We were within sight of each others RV’s, easily able to walk to your fellow club members sites. This park is more of a resort. They still had two pools available for swimming, many outdoor activities throughout the day at various times. Multiple ball fields, a dog park, a bike park, and a pond too. They also had a meal tent for campers who don’t like to cook.

The Murphy’s hosted the Friday night campfire & cocktail party. Temperatures dropped to 47 degrees. Thanks to all who gave some firewood. Yvonne had a delicious pineapple taste testing treat. Cathy had the cheese of the party, DUBLINER. Karen V made my personal favorite, her goat cheese cracker combo. Lorraine made chocolate drops. It was a very social party, plenty of laughs, everyone hugging the fire pit.

A morning rain kept most campers in their RV’S. The Cocozza offered a Mimosas breakfast. As soon as the weather turned for the better, campers began to enjoy the park for it’s offerings. A 3:30 PM gathering with another Tiffin Club was hosted at the Normandy Farms Creative Arts Center. We were introduced to the MINUTEMEN Allegro’s, from Massachusetts. The Minutemen made arrangements to secure a room for the “meet and greet”. This was greatly appreciated as the grounds were still wet. The room had tables, chairs, countertop, sink, refrigerator, microwave, and electricity to keep the food warm. This gathering was a great idea, enjoyed by all. Thank you Michael and Kevin.

Dick & Jane Pare’ 84 Kosmas Street, Marlboro, MA 01752 (who subsequently wrote “It has been a great pleasure to share our day and break bread with great friends.”)
I met BJ and Marcia Roussos, 781-864-5851 at the SHELL gas station just before entering Normandy Farms. He owns an Allegro Bus, but doesn’t belong to a chapter. He knows some of the Minutemen, so he tagged along for the weekend gatherings. We nicknamed him the “Independent Allegro Club”.
This was supposed to be a finger food party, but you were forced to use a fork, knife and spoon. There was homemade Manhattan Clam Chowder, Chili, Taco dip, Wraps, cheese and crackers, cakes, pastry’s, fruits & vegetables, 3 types of meatballs, pulled chicken in BBQ sauce, there was so much food we could have fed everyone in the pool too. The gathering lasted till 7:30 PM. Afterwards some of the group did BINGO, some went back to the Murphy’s fire pit. This allowed the fire pit crew to sample the latest offerings in homemade “Apple Pie” of the adult version.

The weather was the best of the weekend. A perfect fall weather day. Some in the group used their bicycles, some did shopping at the OUTLETS, some did the planned park activities. The weather allowed everyone to enjoy the day no matter what they did, we had an appointment to meet at the Murphy’s for a last hurrah at 5:30 PM. Some chips, dips, cheese, crackers and some great shrimp delivered by the Mondone’s was enjoyed by all. Again the fire pit was the place to be. It was turned into a two fire pit party after the crowd grew so big. There was again plenty of laughs. We even had a guest appearance from “Hot Lips Hollahan”. Some in the group went to the DJ dance party.

Most members in the group headed home at various times throughout the morning. The Mondone’s stayed an extra day. This allowed them peace and quiet to reflect and enjoy a site overlooking the pond.
Don’t be surprised if our Chapter does this Resort some time again in 2015/2016? It was enjoyed by all. There is plenty to do at this place. It was very clean. The bathrooms were of DISNEY quality. The sites were big enough for all the rigs, no matter the length. Full hook up, 30/50 amp, water, cable, and sewer hookup. It was close enough to the highway, but not too close. Average travel time from Long Island 4.5 hours.
Thank you Kevin and Kathy Murphy for planning this trip two years ago. It was everything we expected it to be, it was worth the wait. Looking forward to the next one.
