Thursday, April 9th.      We arrived at beautiful Williston Crossings and began our rally with a social hour with light snacks at the pavilion at 4:00pm.  After social hour, we had a pot luck picnic with fried chicken and picnic side dishes.  We enjoyed the spaciousness of the pavilion and getting together again.  We ended our first evening with a Corn hole competition with tonight’s winners looking forward to a playoff round tomorrow night!

Friday, April 10th.      Today most made the 25 mile drive to Dunnellon to take the “Singing River Tour.”  Captain Jon serenaded us as we explored the Rainbow and Withlacoochee Rivers on a 40’ pontoon boat and learned about Florida’s fascinating ecosystem.  We spotted exotic birds, turtles, and even a gator.

Lunch at the “Blue Gator Restaurant” in Dunnellon followed.  All agreed it was a great day trip!  Back at Williston, supper was a Pizza Party with Ceasar Salad and other salads and desserts.  We had a book and magazine exchange so we could get some new reading material.  The championship Corn hole competition was held with the Van Fleet’s emerging as winners!  Their prize?  Five tickets in tomorrow’s 50/50 drawing.

Saturday, April 11th.     It was a beautiful day today, and everyone took advantage of the fine weather in different ways.  Some drove 45 miles to Cedar Key and enjoyed exploring that Fishing Village with its shops, restaurants, museums, and natural beauty.  Others drove to Gainesville only to find a crowd in attendance for the annual Orange &Blue game at UF.  Still others enjoyed just relaxing or lounging by the pool at the campground.

Williston is a great CG for hiking to the quarry, or for a bike ride through the park.  We gathered at the Activities Building at 4:30pm for our first ever “Suncoast Auction.”  We had great participation with buyers and sellers earning tickets into the 50/50 drawing.  The 50/50 drawing was won by the Griffins who received $65.00, with a like amount going into the club’s treasury!  Dinner was at the “Ivy House” restaurant in Williston.  Not wanting the day to end, many gathered around the host’s coach for campfire chat and games after we returned to camp.

Sunday, April 12th.

This morning we said our good-byes at a continental breakfast that Charlie and I were happy to prepare as this rally’s hosts. Next up is the rally at Sun N Fun RV Resort,   www.sunnfunfl.com in Sarasota beginning May 14th.  This will be the last rally before a summer break.   (A short membership meeting will be held with VP Mike Johnson presiding in the absence of our president who will have already left for summer adventures, including a trip to Alaska!!)   Hope to see you there!!
