The Chesapeake Allegros Chapter #63 held a Rally at Ramblin Pines Campground in Woodbine, Maryland the weekend of June 10 – 12. At this Rally the Club Members all brought Play Doh to be donated to the Caitlin’s Smiles Organization. The mission is simple, the impact immense. Caitlin’s Smiles is dedicated to sharing smiles and laughter with children facing chronic or life threatening illnesses. Founded in 2004 in memory of Caitlin Hornung, the non-profit organization distributes arts and crafts kits to hospitals, giving kids an outlet for creativity and the means to heightened feelings of self-worth. Caitlin’s Smiles recognizes children as unique individuals and strives to heighten their feelings of self-worth and competency by providing them with opportunities to be creative and successful with a variety of creative art experiences.
Two of our members; Lenchen and Charlie Radle are regular volunteers with this organization giving their time to help children to smile. The Chesapeake Allegros love to help out charity organizations. Every year we vote on a charity to donate money to and now we are also collecting items to donate to various charities.
