The annual Red Bay Founder’s Fest will take place Saturday, September 16, 2017, attracting visitors from near and far for a day of free family style fun and activities. Situated under the shade trees of Bay Tree Park, this one-day tribute to the our city’s heritage offers arts and crafts, sidewalk sales, contests, live music and much more.
The daylong event kicks off at 8:30 AM with the Kings and Queens Train Ride featuring the winners of the beauty pageant held a few days prior. Live music cranks up at 9:00 AM (bring your lawn chair). The best fried pie contest gets underway at 11:00 AM and festival goers are invited to participate or observe a variety of contests including buck dancing, quilting, coloring, photography, fiddling and a Bar-B-Que cook-off.
The park will be filled with arts and craft booths. There will be a 5K run and an antique car, truck, motorhome, tractor show. The Red Bay Museum will be open for tours and many of the merchants will offer sidewalk sales, specials and door prizes throughout the day.
A variety of festival food will be available in the park. Prizes will be awarded to the largest family, the longest distance traveled to Red Bay, the youngest and the oldest attendees.
Come out and enjoy a day in the park! The Bay Tree Park is located near Second Street and admission is free. Festival hours are 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
